Tales of the summer hols continue to circulate. This one centres on a dedicated member of the profession who gave up several days of her well-deserved eight-week break to supplement her skills and knowledge around the environmental dimensions of the primary curriculum.
In other words, she went coastal birdwatching under the eagle eye of a ranger who explained in great detail the differences between our feathered friends.
The ranger duly differentiated between the cormorant and the shag. Similar but different.
“If I’m taking my kids out, they’re definitely all cormorants,” asserted the wise teacher.
