Did Mr Gove have a very bad experience with an iPod? I only ask as the marginalisation of subjects such as design and technology, ICT, music and business studies confirm MP Kevin Brennan’s statement that Mr Gove is creating “an analogue curriculum for a digital age”.

While we potentially watch England rise in the Pisa rankings to produce future pub quiz champions, we can stand and watch the decline in social, economic and cultural capital.
