I was appalled by Mr Cairns’s comments. I am a teacher of business and ICT and have taught several outstanding lessons.
Yet I have a C in English, an AVCE in travel, tourism and hospitality, and a 2:1 BA Hons degree from Leeds University in business and management.
A good teacher cannot be judged on their academic background. An enthusiastic attitude, energy, drive and commitment to their students’ education is more important.
