Imagine wallowing in a Roman bath with perfumed olive oil, followed by a cleansing scrape and a cooling swim. The reality for many was floating toenail clippings and water unchanged for a year (page 19).

Citizenship is high on the agenda for everyone, not just hard-pressed subject co-ordinators. Our 8-page supplement, in association with National Trust Learning, highlights the imaginative ways in which the Trust is helping children understand what it means to be a citizen today.
