A consultation began this week into the future of quality improvement and enhancement across FE and training.

The Learning and Skills Improvement Service launched its 11-week consultation on the National Improvement Strategy (NIS) on Wednesday. It is aimed at the widest range of stakeholders including colleges, private learning providers and employers.

The NIS was launched in 2007 by the Quality Improvement Agency but LSIS was asked to take the lead in renewing the strategy when the improvement agency merged with the Centre for Excellence in Leadership in October this year. LSIS has refocused the NIS and the consultation revolves around six core principals. The consultation closes on February 27.
