Aberdeen secondary schools now appear to be at home with a super-duper IT system, designed to ensure their financial controls add up. It was not ever thus for the new “education financial system”, known in IT-speak as EFIN. Gremlins, of the apologetic sort, kept intruding which is why the computer screens were given to announcing: “We’re sorry for the EFIN error.”
Happily, the bug has now disappeared.
