The Educational Institute of Scotland has postponed its campaign to highlight the shortfall in the funding of schools, colleges and universities until after Easter. This response to the Dunblane tragedy was accompanied by the postponement of a meeting on Wednesday between the union and Raymond Robertson, the Education Minister.

An EIS-sponsored conference on the funding of education will go ahead in Stirling on Monday. Speakers include Malcolm Green, education convener in Glasgow, Richard Shaw, principal of Paisley University, Michael Leech, principal of Stevenson College in Edinburgh, and representatives of the four main political parties.
