EMA cut will mean student dropouts

The abolition of the education maintenance allowance (EMA) will lead to a drop in student numbers in 93 per cent of colleges, according to a survey of principals by the Unison and UCU unions. The study found the college most affected is Knowsley Community College in Merseyside, where 94 per cent of learners receive the EMA.
