'Enemies of promise' criticised

Critics of the Westminster government's academies programme are the "enemies of promise", Michael Gove said last week. The education secretary said he would press on with plans to transform 200 of the worst-performing primaries into academies and claimed local authority bosses who stood in his way were "happy with failure".
