Up to 30 regional SETPOINTS will act as “one-stop shops”, providing information for teachers, business and industry. They will also encourage joint events and projects between industry and education, highlight gaps and duplication in provision of information, organise seminars and meetings to disseminate good practice, and publicise success stories from teachers and students.
SETNET chief executive Dr Ray Peacock says: “Teachers can look on SETPOINTS as centres of excellence, through which they can gain access to other professionals and receive sound advice on the suitability of products. This way business and industry are more likely to see a take-up of schemes and resources.”
SETNET is funded by the Government and engineering industry.
