English

English stock cupboards are full of stories about childhood experiences (Cider with Rosie, The Goalkeeper's Revenge, Skulker Wheat), but they're about the experiences of the past three generations and can appear to have little connection with the concerns of present-day children. When you next read one with your class, ask them what current books about childhood will survive for their children to read. Spend a lesson discussing the titles.
