The diary of British writer and essayist George Orwell is being published day by day as a blog, 70 years after it was first written. The blogs began earlier this month, published by the sponsors of the Orwell Prize for political writing. They include insights into Orwell's personal life (including details of how many eggs his chickens lay each day) and his political thinking in the run-up to the Second World War. The diary ends in 1942.
