Theatregoers and professionals are used to the great range of productions at the Shakespeare’s Globe theatre in London. But now it is expanding its educational resources, too.

Globe Education is one of TES Resources’ latest partners and it has expanded and revised its Discovery Space - an impressive online resource - to offer behind-the-scenes insights into rehearsing, producing and staging productions, together with archival and current information on shows for pupils and teachers. You’ll also find academic papers here, and links to further information.

Adopt an Actor is another feature, which has interviews with actors from the 2012 season. Registered users will be sent an automatic email each time an interview is posted with their “adopted” actor. Archived chats with more than 150 performers are also available.

There are research bulletins and conference papers written by academics and members of Globe Education’s research department, where you can check out discussions of the themes and issues raised by Shakespeare’s plays. For those wanting to take study even further, an Online Resources section provides links to external journals, databases and catalogues relating to early modern theatre.

“Globe Education is delighted to join TES as a resources partner. It is wonderful that teachers around the world can access such vibrant material on such a breadth of subjects. The forum is a wonderful way to share experience and offer peer support,” says Georghia Ellinas, head of learning at Globe Education.
