The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland is celebrating its centenary this year with the launch of The Wild Bus, a restored, re-branded 1975 Leyland double-decker with activities and displays about its conservation, education and research work.
The society is the charity which operates Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park, and the bus, scheduled to make its first appearance at the Edinburgh International Science Festival tomorrow, will feature guest appearances from some of the smaller animals from Edinburgh Zoo.
It will visit schools and community groups across Scotland between April 2009 and March 2010.
