A creative writing competition for Edinburgh school children, “Think Global, Act Local” has been launched.
Last year’s Green Pencil Award received nearly 900 entries. Aoife Forbes from Bonaly Primary was the overall winner and scooped the prestigious trophy for her entry “Antarctic Waste” on the devastating effects of global warming.
Closing date for entries to the Edinburgh City Council competition is October 16. They should be no longer than one side of A4 or 20 lines of poetry. www.edinburgh.gov.ukgreenpencilaward.
