Four pupils will get the chance to put their concerns about the environment to Tony Blair later this year after winning Youth Speak Out, a national competition organised by the Institute for Citizenship Studies.

They were chosen from a large entry of 16 and 17-year-olds who sent a message to the Prime Minister on the subject of the environment. Their prize will include a meeting with Mr Blair, as well as trips to Westminster and Strasbourg.

The winners are: Holly Muller, of Brecon High School, Wales; Thomas Bowes, of Holy Cross College, Lancashire; Azuka Oyem, of Cardinal Pole School, Hackney; and Lisa Gregory, Bellerive Sixth Form, Liverpool. The competition was sponsored by The TES and BG plc.
