Environmental health needs you

ENVIRONMENTAL health officers are visiting schools to convince pupils that their profession is about more than just catching rats. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health fears the poor image of the job is to blame for a recruitment crisis that could see a shortage of more than 1,000 officers by 2005, putting public health at risk.
