Eoin Colfer learned stand-up comedy as a primary teacher in County Wexford until 2001, when his Artemis Fowl stories of a teenage criminal mastermind propelled him into the superleague of children’s authors. From April 8 he’ll be facing live audiences again, when his week’s tour of his “Fairies, Fiends and Flatulence” family comedy show (as pioneered at the Edinburgh Festival last year) opens in Cardiff. See www.artemisfowl.co.uk for all the venue details.
