Colleges are being urged to sweep out discrimination with the aid of a new equal opportunities checklist. The Commission for Racial Equality and the Equal Opportunities Commission have produced a practical manual listing questions colleges should ask themselves to help them monitor achievements and remedy shortcomings.
CRE chairman Herman Ouseley said the guide stressed the importance of building equality of opportunity into frameworks such as college strategic plans, mission statements and charters.
