The DNA Learning Centre at Cold Spring Harbour Laboratory presents evidence and looks at racist marriage laws, restrictive immigration policies, and the legal sterilisation of “undesirables.” Historical documents and essays suggest parallels with the present day and suggest caution. The site is uncensored and some of the term used in the documents are offensive. There is an argument that the present interest in cloning animals and now humans is reminiscent of the earlier eugenics movements - “an erroneous, ‘scientific’ effort to breed better humans based on Mendelian genetics and social Darwinism”.
