History in Action 2000, “the largest multi-period historical festival in the world”, is being staged by English Heritage at Kirby Hall, Nrthamptonshire, August 12-13, 9.30am-6pm. Ongoing displays will include: Normans and Saxons of 1066, medieval jousting and combat displays, English Civil War battle tactics, Napoleonic battle, the American Civil War, the Imperial Roman Army from the first to fifth centuries, and World War I and II displays including tanks and Spitfire fighters.
