This year, two pupils from Our Lady Queen of Heaven primary school, south London, and Polesworth high school, Warwickshire, joined professionals on the panel for the children's book award, chaired by Philippa Russell, director of the Council for Disabled Children. The academic book award panel is chaired by Gary Thomas, professor in education at Oxford Brookes university and the books for teaching and learning award is chaired by Phillip Garner, professor of SEN at Nottingham Trent University. The prizes will be presented at the NasenTES Special Needs Exhibition at 4.30 pm on October 30 , when the guest speaker will be author and broadcaster Gervase Phinn.
