JUNE 22-29 SCIENCE FESTIVAL Families are invited to a fun day at Derby University’s SciTec festival, June 27. JUNE 25; JULY 4 YORK MYSTERY PLAYS Following a series of educational workshops, primary schools in York are performing A Creative Mystery, a musical re-enactment of the Creation, at York Minster, June 25, 7pm, pound;5 adults, children free. In a second project, pupils from the special schools of York are preparing a processional performance of Moses and Pharaoh as part of “The Carnival of Time” (a York Millennium Mystery Plays and York Early Music Festival project). These will be surrounded by “a shimmering shoal of moving lanterns massed into a host of colourful fish”, created by 250 children from local schools.
