The Dip‘99 show, the design and engineering graduate recruitment event held in the London Arena, Limeharbour, Docklands E14 on July 1, 10am-8pm, is free to anyone in education. It will feature displays, models and course work from leading university and college courses in architecture; interior and industrial product design; model-making; theatre and costume, among others.

Also on display will be models of a ‘99’ ice cream cone entered by secondary schools for the DipCadbury’s competition (see Competitions). The winning school will be presented with a computer with drawing package by ITV’s ‘Art Attack’ . Details: Dip Events, tel: 0171 251 6544.

An education programme in which school and college students take part in workshops with architects and designers has been established as part of the year-long festival, Glasgow 1999 UK City of Architecture and Design. Projects include an exhibition, ‘Design Machine’, to run at the Museum and Art Gallery, Kelvingrove, September 24-January 9, 2000, and, also at Kelvingrove, the development of a floorplan in Marmoleum, following workshops in primary schools. Publications have been distributed to educational establishments.
