Is this a record? On February 10, I received, with no word of apology, an examiner’s report from the University of London Examinations and Assessment Council concerning a student’s performance in a summer 1996 A-level chemistry examination, in response to an enquiry upon result registered on August 19,1996. In this age of accountability and codes of practice, I find this somewhat amazing. Perhaps it can be ascribed to the change in name of the examination board from ULEAC to EDEXEL - an abbreviation for “educational excellence”, I believe.
