IN response to Janette Wolf’s Another Voice article on primary sport (TES, November 3) may I make a suggestion?

I am over 40 and overweight! Although an active sportswoman in my youth, I am hardly a good role model for my Year 4 class. Why not train (younger) non-teachers as PE specialists, perhaps employed by two or three neighbouring schools, to give good quality E teaching? At the same time, this would go some way to giving primary teachers a little desperately needed non-

contact time. Some of those involved might even go on to train as teachers too.

Why not extend the idea to music which is also neglected in many primary schools?
