Exercising the brain, an alternative gym

It was most encouraging to read the contribution (TESS, February 14) concerning the Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology’s school-based daily exercise programme devised by Sally Goddard-Blythe and promoted to support a wider population of children beyond those for whom individually directed intervention may be possible.

Unfortunately the headline, “Take your kids to the brain gym”, and the picture, focused on an alternative intervention - that of the Educational Kinesiology Foundation and their “brain gym” programme.

This will have caused confusion between the work of INPP and that of “brain gym”. The two programmes are distinctly different.“Brain gym” is not a feature of INPP intervention.
