To mark the 400th anniversary of Guy Fawkes’s failed Gunpowder Plot, the Parliamentary Archives and the 24 Hour Museum have launched Gunpowder, Treason Plot, a site with resources for KS23. A set of 17th-century commemorative playing cards lead KS2 pupils through stories and pictures about the conspiracy to kill King James I, from the gang members’ plotting, to their arrests, executions and the first firework celebrations on November 5, 1605. The Adult Zone provides older pupils and teachers with information and resources, including painting and original documents about the plot and the people involved. There is also a timeline of political and religious events in the 60 years leading up to the incident.
