Over the past 10 years, 42 children in the UK have been killed on farms, and the Health and Safety Executive(HSE) has produced a video in an attempt to reduce the number of fatalities - “Safe! Helping children to stay safe on farms” - features hazards such as unhygienic animal contact, getting in the way of agricultural vehicles and climbing hay bales.

The video was filmed at Orchard Farm in Cheshire where, two years ago, farmer’s son Adam Brown survived a fall under the wheels of a tractor.

The video has been sent to all local education authorities. It is available for pound;23.50 (incl VAT) from HSE Books, PO Box 1999, Sudbury CO10 2WA.
