The most crucial tool for Landmark students is the “master notebook,” an ordinary looseleaf notebook for each subject.

It is a portable filing system which teaches students to put things in the right place. There are separate sections for hand-outs, class notes, vocabulary, returned work, current drafts, final drafts and a special inside pocket for homework to be submitted.

Students learn how to use and maintain the notebook, among other things, in the study skills class that everyone takes when they first come to the college. Six key areas are covered in this module: material organisation, time management, reading skills (active reading and critical reading), note-taking, note review and revision.

All teachers at the college receive regular iin-house training in teaching ADHD and dyslexics and are overseen by specialist supervisors.
