THE head of an academically-successful state school has been suspended pending an investigation into alleged financial irregularities. Roger Sheffield has stepped down from his post at Langley Park school for boys in Beckenham, Kent. In a letter to parents, Bill Beck, chair of governors, said: “Suspension is not regarded as a disciplinary penalty nor a presumption of guilt, but it is designed to allow a full investigation to take place.”
