(Photograph) - Mike Russell, the Environment Minister, went down to the woods the other day, where he met Stewart Walker and Jessica McCable of Cocksburnpath Primary in the Borders. The school won first prize in Scotland’s Finest Woods Schools Award, an initiative supported by the Forestry Commission and the Scottish Forrestry Society. Cocksburnpath pupils impressed the judges with their work to reopen a disused path through an area of local woodland. Photograph: Alan Peebles.
