Michael Gove should take note that the participants in this flagship route to qualified teacher status (“Teach First doesn’t treat theorists as second class”, Letters, 2 November) are awarded a PGCE for their academic work. Teach First works in partnership with a significant number of leading universities to deliver a programme that is informed by research findings, relevant theory and the wealth of expertise in subject pedagogy that informs all higher education institution-led routes to QTS.
