A London school is to become Britain’s first bilingual state primary. From next September, 14 English and 14 French pupils will be admitted into the reception class at Wix primary in Battersea, which will teach English and French curriculums in tandem. The pioneering scheme is backed by the French government and Wandsworth, the local council in south London.
