Student poverty and debt were the focus of the education debate at the Scottish National Party's conference in Inverness. Not surprisingly, Labour's "betrayal" over its conversion to loans took much of the flak. But it was left to Christine Creech, a former secondary teacher and recent mature student, to make a wounding observation.
