Focus on children’s rights

https://www.tes.com/magazine/archive/focus-childrens-rights
Many of us only discover our rights through difficulty and conflict. With citizenship now in place, such experiences shouldn’t be so common among the younger generation. Unicef’s website for children’s rights is a valuable resource. It raises awareness of children’s rights with a global vision that underlines the hardships and dangers faced by children worldwide. Did you know that one in five children does not have access to fresh water? Issues like this are examined in detail. The site supports project work with a clear focus on the curriculum and was created in partnership and consultation with St Mary’s School, Paddington, London. There are also interactive challenges to help students develop their ability to make life decisions.
