A charity is offering teachers free training to help improve the development of food education in primary schools.

The Food Partnership, which was set up by the Government as part of its drive to encourage healthy eating, is arranging for secondary food teachers to work with primary schools to provide professional development and help teachers become confident in teaching practical cookery skills to children.

The partnership is keen to recruit more trainers and to encourage more primary teachers to take part and build up local partnerships.

To find out more about becoming a trainer or to find one, visit www.foodinschools.org or contact Paul Drury at The Design Technology Association on 01789 473912.
