A US teenager has been banned from graduating because he attended his girlfriend’s prom.

Tyler Frost, 17, a pupil at Heritage Christian School in Findlay, Ohio, which forbids dancing, rock music and hand-holding, made a promise at the start of the school year that he would not attend any events involving these activities.

But he told the US press he did not feel any less Christian for having gone to the prom. “It’s kind of sad it has to end this way,” he said. “I was kind of looking forward to graduating with my class, you know, that’s why you put in 13 years of school - to graduate.”

But Tyler’s principal said he did not think a Christian should “place themselves at an event where young ladies will have low-cut dresses”.

Despite Tyler has no regrets. “It was worth it,” he said.
