Pupils in Germany are worried about results - not of exams, but of their national football team.
As the side progresses through the European Championships, German students are expected to be glued to TV screens rather than books.
But teachers fear that students will show up for exams bleary-eyed from late nights of football revelry, so two unions have called for tests to be rescheduled.
The GEW, the biggest teachers’ union, suggested cancelling exams on days after big Germany games.
In a light-hearted response, the DphV, the German Association of Grammar School Teachers, said that in the interests of fairness, children of other nationalities competing should also be spared tests the day after their teams played.
The union also said that with hardly any time for tests at all, why not just close schools this week and let children enjoy the football in peace? Needless to say, that idea was given the red card by authorities.
No special dispensation needed for British children, of course.
