We are an independent special school attached to Clifford House, an organisation offering residential placements for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
We’ve brought 19 children today, aged 11 to 14, along with their residential social workers. We’ve been looking at the Industrial Revolution for history and we wanted to come to Enginuity because Coalbrookdale is the cradle of the Industrial Revolution.
We did quite a lot of work on this before we came. We’ve split our day between the two sites in Coalbrookdale. This morning we looked at the Museum of Iron which was easy because it’s right next door. That gave us the history and Enginuity is allowing us to do some practical follow up. We may come back to visit the Blists Hill open-air site later.
Enginuity has been really hands on. The activities here are ideal for the children, there’s so much to do. It’s much better then sitting and listening. They really enjoyed the bridge building workshop and the staff here have been very helpful.
