Minister of State Eric Forth called for better co-operation between education and health workers at this week’s annual conference of the National Children’s Bureau.

Children with special educational needs, he said, rely on multi-agency work. “It’s not enough to adopt co-ordination and co-operation as pious watchwords. We have to root out the real obstacles to cooperation.” Teachers and health workers were not doing their jobs properly unless they recognised this fact, he added.
