Evening gowns, uniforms and utility wear will be featured in “Forties Fashion . . . and the New Look”, this year’s major exhibition at the Imperial War Museum which will run from February 12 to August 31. Designs from the mid-1930s to late-1940s will be on show, including wartime wedding dresses made from parachute silk and some of the Dior creations which revolutionised women’s fashion.
