There was a forthright response from tycoon Sir Tom Hunter when interviewed by two aspiring radio broadcasters at Eastbank Academy to mark the Glasgow school’s addition to the Schools of Ambition hall of fame.
The secrets of his success were due in large part to good fortune, he said:
“I’d rather be lucky than clever.” It was also important to be positive, resurrecting the old saw: “I can is better than IQ.”
