ONE of the country’s largest education authorities has warned the Government that its schools face a four-day week because of teacher shortages.

Essex says it has lost nearly one in five of its teachers oer the past year. And a Wiltshire head warned his school will lose an afternoon a week. John Wells, of Swindon’s Headlands school, said he was six teachers short at the start of the Christmas break.
