We salute the brave efforts of Jacques McConnell, Ministre de l’Education, in taking up the language challenge from the European Year of Languages and trying to learn French.
At the launch in Stirling, M McConnell did his best with some introductory franglais, although he ha earlier had his thunder slightly stolen when Andre Miller, Stirling University’s directeur, did exactly the same.
Incidentally, what was that bit in the Mulgrew modern languages report about the importance of schools moving out from under the dominance of French?
