The Government has a bee in its bonnet about life-work balance and it seems teachers are top of its list of targets. Spurred on by government schemes, many headteachers have been organising regular social activities for its stressed-out staff, but it appears that the plan has backfired.
According to the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers, these regular nights out with colleagues are adding to stress levels. Some teachers don’t have the cash to stump-up for meals out and many would rather spend time with their families, but are worried about opting out for fear of seeming anti-social.
