“Measuring the marigold” and “Wild geometry” are the titles of two free London Mathematical Society lectures on June 2 and June 30 at Manchester University, 7-9.30pm, and Imperial College, London SW7, 7.30-10pm. In the first, Professor Peter Saunders will discuss “what mathematicians can tell us about flowers . . . and fruit flies . . . and Friesians”.
