A storytelling fellowship, funded by the Scottish Arts Council’s literature department, with additional support from Aberdeen City Council, was officially launched this week at the city’s Storytelling Festival.

The fellowship will pay for two storytellers, Margot Henderson and Cathy Low, to be based at Northfield Library, but most of their time will be spent in schools, telling tales and combining them with dance, drama, music and poetry.

The storytelling festival programme is packed with professional storytellers, performances by leading theatre companies, author visits, training events and interactive workshops. It runs until March 27.

Further information contact Aberdeen’s cultural co-ordinator, Linda Lees Hislop, tel 01224 346358.
