Huge stones which generations of pupils have played on at an Oxfordshire school are to be removed because they are now deemed too dangerous under health and safety guidelines. The 17 giant sandstone rocks have been a landscape feature at Fir Tree junior school in Wallingford for more than 20 years. The school is trying to raise pound;15,000 for modern play equipment. Locals say the stones removal is “political correctness gone mad”.
