REJOICE! The next generation of politicians is considering a career change. New Labour’s latest task force - the Children’s Parliament, launched at Westminster this week - is meant to produce the MPs of the future. Pity then, that when John Prescott asked the “inquisitive, enquiring and committed” 11-year-olds how many wanted his job, the response was blank looks all round. Gives you hope, doesn’t it?
